In the United States, Human Trafficking is defined as “sex trafficking in which a commercial sex act is induced by force, fraud or coercion, or in which the person induced to perform such act has not attained 18 years of age;” or “the recruitment, harboring, transportation, provision or obtaining of a person for labor or serviced, through the use of force, fraud or coercion for the purpose of subjection to involuntary servitude, peonage, debt bondage or slavery.”
Although, it has been said that human trafficking victims are difficult to quantify, but reportedly, not less than 300,000 approximately (majority of whom are females) annually. To that end, SHE RISES INT’L, INC. plan to collaborate with the local and international Law Enforcement Agencies, Human Trafficking Task Forces, as well as Advocates to call women/and girls’ awareness and to train about some of the red flags towards prevention and ultimately eradicating this societal wrong.
