Our History

In May 2020, SHE RISES INT’L, INC. was birthed out of the Founder’s passion and desire to empower, promote, counsel and encourage women/girls globally, but specifically in the developing world. Being sandwiched between two female siblings, Tinu Akinshola was born, raised, and grew up in the developing world (Lagos, Nigeria). Although, there were lots of opportunities for a girl-child in that part of the country, nevertheless, women and girls still fall far behind men economically, educationally, as well as in leadership positions due to cultural, religious and ethnic restrictions that mostly favor men and boys.

In some cultures, unlike her male counterpart, a girl-child is warned against dating because of her youthful age; she is forced into a marriage (sometimes to a man twice her age or who already has 1 -2 wives); she is told her biological clock is ticking should she desire to delay child marriage, raising children and/or the number of children she would bring forth into the family; how far she could go in school because her life would end in the kitchen anyway; she cannot pursue a vocation of her choice especially if it is such that falls “outside of women traditionally employment type”; she can only be seen, but not heard; she cannot work outside the home if she is given the opportunity to pursue a career or vocation; and she is mostly blamed for infertility, children’s shortcomings, delinquencies and irresponsibility. 

Having been involved in various paid and volunteer opportunities, Tinu Akinshola consistently advocate, counsel and assist women and girls whether spiritually or professionally ranging from domestic violence, career opportunities, domestic violence, immigration, human trafficking, reproductive health, and as a matter of economics. She would soon journal her thoughts, ideas, affected population, and resources to combat the need. 

Unfortunately, the world became corrupted by COVID-19 and the need increase by the day locally and most especially in the developing world. Consequently, Tinu Akinshola reached out to professionals of similar passion, desire, and objective in assisting women and girls achieve their fullest potential and destiny. 

She Rises Int’l, Inc.’s Board of Directors consist of these charitable and passionate individuals to date in order that women and girls regardless of their geographical location would be mentored, counseled, encouraged and empowered to speak-up for themselves and other females; stay engaged in their communities i.e. politically and on leadership end; be educated and make decisions about their reproductive health; pursue their choice of vocation, education and employment; say no to violence, abuse, human trafficking, and oppression through advocacy, seminars, education scholarship funds, programs and activities in collaboration with other organizations that may have similar mission and goals for all females.
